Middle School Program

Parkview offers middle school students independent study coursework with individualized flexible school schedules perfect for elite or approaching elite student-athletes! 
 
USI students have access to:
  • Weekly live instruction via Zoom
  • On-campus support classes in reading, writing, and math
  • Virtual check-ins with credentialed teachers
  • Honors courses that are designed for students who can learn at an accelerated pace
  • Up to two *concurrent courses at our comprehensive middle schools
    National Junior Honors Society membership pending approved application
  • Additional academic support through tutoring appointments (virtually or in-person)
 
*Concurrent courses: students have the opportunity to take up to two courses at one of PYLUSD’s comprehensive middle schools. Courses offerings vary by school site but may include music, STEM, art, etc. 
 
Middle school students (grades 6-8) can learn virtually at home through instructor-led courses, online learning programs, or traditional textbook courses. Onsite classes in each content area are also provided for supplemental instruction. Students are provided with Chromebooks, assignments and deadlines for each month. Parents/tutors are provided lesson plans that outline grade-level standards, learning concepts and teaching resources. Students are assigned to a credentialed teacher for support and guidance in which they meet monthly to collect student work samples and to ensure adequate student learning.
